Claire Logue attended Durham School between 2001 and 2006. During her time as a pupil in Pimlico House, she was a regular member of the 1st XI hockey team, the first VII netball team and the first VI Tennis and later captained the 1st VI tennis team and was a House Monitor. She was awarded the Richardson Bunbury Prize for Modern Languages in 2006.
After leaving Durham School she gained her undergraduate degree in German and French, during which she studied at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and the University of Western Australia in Perth. She then spent several years working in the field of languages, including in the London office of the international aeronautical standards organisation, The Performance Review Institute, before gaining her Master of Arts in Media and Journalism from Newcastle University.
Trained as a reporter and producer at the BBC, and later moving into news reading, Claire has been heard regionally and nationally across BBC Radio 5Live, LBC and LBC News; Capital, Heart and Smooth; Greatest Hits Radio, Metro Radio and Hits Radio. Most recently she has been a newsreader for Times Radio, part of the Times.
In October 2023 Claire joined the journalism team at Newcastle University, as a Lecturer in Journalism and Module Leader for the undergraduate media law and ethics training. She now lives in Newcastle with her husband, three children and their Border Collie.
