Farewell to Bow: A Joyful Celebration of an Extraordinary School

This week, we marked a momentous and emotional milestone in our school’s history – the beginning of our farewell to Bow School. As we prepare to close the doors to our cherished site on Quarryheads Lane, our Bow children came together to honour its remarkable legacy with a day full of joy, memories, and heartfelt celebration.

It was a day as full of life as Bow School has been for generations. Laughter echoed across the grounds as pupils played games, enjoyed delicious cupcakes, and immersed themselves in the rich history of the school that has shaped so many young lives.

The children explored a captivating collection of photographs and archives, marvelling at moments from the past and connecting with the generations who came before them. One of the day’s highlights was trying on the full collection of Bow School hats worn by pupils throughout the ages, a unique and playful way to walk in the footsteps of history.

There was creativity too. The pupils poured their love and imagination into creating a beautiful ‘Farewell to Bow’ banner, now proudly displayed as a symbol of all that Bow has meant to them. To end this lovely celebration, the children came together to share cupcakes and enjoy lots of dancing.

While this chapter of Bow’s story comes to a close, its spirit will live on, in the friendships made, the lessons learned, and the character formed within its walls. It lives on too in the memories of our wider community, which we’ve been honoured to share in our Farewell to Bow series.

From its humble beginnings on North Bailey to its final days filled with laughter and colour, Bow School has always stood for excellence, community, and heart. As we look ahead to new beginnings based at Chorister Cathedral site, we do so carrying forward everything that made Bow so special.

We warmly invite current and former pupils, families, staff and friends to join us at Bow School on Saturday 22nd June, between 1–5pm, for a final farewell gathering.
