Pimlico – 9 October

As has often been the case within these walls, the vibe in Pimlico has been distinctly creative over the last week. Our bake sale certainly brought a wealth of delicious – and in many cases distinctly eye-catching – cakes through the door, all of which translated into two very successful days of sales. Thank you to all our cake makers and pastry chefs, parents and grandparents: Your efforts raised an impressive £244.25 for the Chapel Centenary Fund. If you would still like to support the cause, without the calories on the hips, please do make use of the link attached. Thank you again!

As if that wasn’t enough, Years 9 and 10 indulged in more gooey gunge on Monday evening, enjoying a social evening together whilst baking cookies.

From all things sweet, we now move to all things cute as we begin work on our next fundraising event: the Christmas Decorations Sale on 7th December. The girls began this morning by cutting out cardboard templates for the crafts they will soon be making – but there will be no spoilers here! Suffice it to say that we need wool, and lots of it. I have a reasonable amount which I am very happy to donate to our craft sessions, but if anyone in the Pimlico community has any more they could spare, we would be very grateful.

Year 11 Drama devising provided a final flourish of creativity as pupils performed their exam pieces in last night’s show. Exploring themes ranging from the climate crisis and teenage struggles across generations to the implications of AI, the breadth and ambition of the ideas on display were impressive, as were the quality and confidence of the individual and group performances. Very well done indeed to Tabitha A, Tessa B, Evie C, Evie S, Tiah T and Francesca W.

House Council has also taken place this week, providing an important forum for feeding back to the House on what has been going on behind the scenes, as well as, importantly, listening to pupil voices. Thank you to Danielle for organising and chairing the meeting. Thank you, too, to Jasmine for heading up House Drama. We now have a team of keen thespians, supported by some equally enthusiastic technical and design connoisseurs, and I am confident that the end result will be fantastic. Roll on Thursday!

Well done to everyone who has played in the Hockey Sevens this week, and very best of luck to those with fixtures at the weekend. I look forward to hearing your results.

Until then, a very happy weekend to all.
