VIRTUAL TOUR

Admissions

We always encourage families considering Chorister School and Durham School to visit us first. A visit is the best way to experience the atmosphere of the School, meet our staff and pupils, and see whether our School feels like the right place for your child. If you are unable to visit in person, we would be very happy to arrange a virtual introduction and tour.

Pupils may join us at a number of entry points, subject to availability. The main intake points usually being Nursery (FS1), Reception (FS2),Year 7, Year 9 and Sixth Form. We also consider applications for other year groups during the year where places are available.

Should you wish to proceed, the next step is to complete our Registration Form. We will then request a reference from your child’s current School and, where appropriate, invite your child to attend for interview and assessment. Prospective pupils are also encouraged to spend time in School wherever possible, so that they can gain a sense of daily life at Durham and we can begin to get to know them.

Following this process, a formal offer of a place may be made. Entry is confirmed on receipt of the completed Acceptance Form and deposit.

Families are also welcome to register interest for future years, although the formal admissions process would usually be completed closer to the proposed point of entry.
