Pre-School and Pre-Prep Weekly Blog

There has been lots of fun in the snow this week with children at home and in School enjoying building snowmen, igloos and even a volcano!  But it wasn’t just in the snow that children were creative this week:

EYFS have been learning about Chinese New Year.  They created their own dragons and had fun doing a dragon dance. Reception have been making shadow puppet snakes.

Year 1 have been learning about the story of St. Valentine in RE.  This linked to their topic ‘Famous For More Than Five Minutes’ as they created some beautiful art work inspired by the artist, Wassily Kandinsky. The children were inspired by his beautiful colour mixing and circular paintings and used this to paint colourful layered hearts.  In Mathematics,

Year 2 have been creating their own brilliant 3D models in the classroom and at home, using all sorts of different materials.

The children have all worked so hard this half term and all the teachers are very impressed with how well they have engaged with their learning, online and in School.  We wish all our families a lovely Valentine’s Day and a happy and restful half term break.
