Outstanding GCSE results as pupils celebrate academic success

Pupils are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results, with strong performance at the very highest grades and some exceptional individual achievements across the year group.

The strength of this year group has been reflected in the number of pupils achieving outstanding results, with 40 per cent achieving at least one Grade 9.

Among the standout performances, pupils achieved exceptional results including eleven Grade 9s, nine Grade 9s and eight Grade 9s.

There were also particularly strong results across a number of subjects.

Strong results across a range of subjects

Languages performed particularly well, with strong results across French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Portuguese.

The separate sciences – Chemistry, Physics and Biology – also produced excellent results, reflecting the hard work and commitment of pupils across the sciences.

History pupils achieved particularly impressive results, with a significant proportion of grades awarded at the very highest level.

These results reflect our ambition to combine strong academic outcomes with an education that encourages pupils to challenge themselves, develop confidence and make the most of the opportunities available to them.

Celebrating hard work and determination

Headmaster, Dr Michael Alderson, said:

“We are tremendously proud of this year group and all they have achieved.

“These results reflect a great deal of hard work, determination and perseverance from our pupils, supported by teachers who know them well and encourage them to aim high.

“It is wonderful to see so many pupils achieving the very highest grades, but what matters equally is that each young person leaves this stage of their education with the confidence to take the next step.

“Our pupils bring so much to School life beyond the classroom too, through sport, music, drama, leadership and service. They have shown ambition and responsibility throughout their GCSE years and we are delighted to celebrate their success today.

“We look forward to welcoming them into the Sixth Form and seeing them continue to develop, contribute and thrive.”

Our curriculum is designed to provide pupils with a broad academic foundation while encouraging them to explore their interests and develop the skills and confidence needed for the next stage of their education.

The wider School experience places equal importance on academic achievement, pastoral care and opportunities beyond the classroom, helping pupils to develop as confident and well-rounded individuals.

This year’s GCSE results are a celebration of individual achievement, collective effort and determination. We congratulate all of our pupils on their results and wish them every success as they take their next steps.
