Making a MARK OD Award

Recognising Old Dunelmians who make a difference.

The Making a MARK Award celebrates our outstanding Old Dunelmians who have made an impact in their fields and communities. This prestigious award acknowledges those who are making a change, whether it is on a local or global scale.

The award was launched in 2026 by the Foundation. It was created to share stories, recognise achievement and get to know our Dunelmian community.

Nominations for 2026 are open from Friday 6 March until Monday 6 April. Nominations are welcome from all members of the Dunelmian Community – pupils, parents, staff, and ODs.

Through the Making a MARK Alumni Award, we want to share the different ways that Old Dunelmians are shaping the world, while reflecting our values of Moral Integrity, Ambition, Responsibility and Kindness.

There is no one way this is accomplished; whether they are making a difference through charitable or voluntary work, tackling global challenges, leading community initiatives, transforming industries, or changing the cultural landscape, we want to hear their stories.

Your nomination should demonstrate the impact of the nominee in at least one of the above areas.

You should reference one or more of the following:

  • How has the nominee gone above and beyond to positively affect others?
  • Community: How have they made an impact on their community?
  • Learning: How have they used their education and skills to make a difference? and
  • MARK: How have they reflected one or more of our MARK values?

A message for families affected by the closure of Durham High School

We understand that this will be a difficult and uncertain time for many Durham High School pupils, families and staff as they consider the next steps for their education and future.

If your family has been affected by our neighbour school (Durham High School) closure, and you would like to discuss the options available to join our school, our Admissions Team is here to offer guidance, answer your questions and provide support in a confidential and compassionate manner.

Whether you are seeking information about places, transition arrangements, transport, scholarships, bursaries or simply wish to talk through your circumstances, we would be pleased to help.
