End of Term Celebrations Go Out in Style

The end of term was celebrated in true DCSF style, with a colourful medley of themed festivities that brought the whole school community together. From 90s throwbacks and Hawaiian to circus fun and old-school rave vibes, the final evening were packed with energy, laughter, and BBQ!

A bucking bronco, inflatable disco, giant dart board, football matches, Jenga tournaments, and mocktail-making sessions kept spirits high throughout the evening.

What stood out most was the wholehearted involvement of staff – never ones to shy away from a celebration. In true house spirit, they threw themselves into the theme, with maths teachers appearing as Eminem and Geri Halliwell, complete with a Union Jack dress worthy of the Brit Awards.

The festivities began in a full-school gathering on the playground, where all houses came together for a celebratory BBQ. With the mouth-watering smell of grilled food drifting through the air, the catering team served up summer favourites at themed BBQ stations. A big thank you to our catering team.

Each house took a moment to reflect, with speeches, thank yous, and end-of-year awards. These gatherings were more than just celebratory — they showcased the strength of the house system itself.

At DCSF, the house structure is at the heart of school life. It gives students a sense of belonging that transcends year groups and friendship circles. Whether they’ve just arrived in Year 7 or are preparing to leave in Year 13, every pupil has a place, a team, and a support network. House activities, competitions, and pastoral support offer students regular opportunities to lead, contribute, and be recognised — creating a culture of inclusion, encouragement, and shared pride.

The end-of-term celebrations reflected exactly that: community, connection, and house pride.
