Durham School Students Shine Bright with Oxbridge Offers

We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of three students who have recently received offers from Oxford and Cambridge University. Congratulations, Seb C, Lekso K and Timon B!

After acing his grades over the summer achieving A*A*AA, Seb’s academic excellence has earned him a guaranteed place to study Ancient and Modern History at University College, Oxford. Lekso also secured an offer from Gonville and Caius, Cambridge for Economics; currently studying Physics, Economics, Maths and Further Maths at A Level, Lekso is aiming high with aspirations to pursue a career in finance. His journey to Cambridge is not just a personal victory, following in the footsteps of his brother who also attended Cambridge (even getting into the same college), but it is also a proud moment for us all at Durham School.

Timon has earned a spot to read History at Oriel College, Oxford and is excited to deepen his knowledge in the subject. Timon who is currently co-Head of School, has been at DCSF since he was three years old. Timon thanked Mr Hope and Ms Thompson for being major influences throughout his Oxford journey, “They supported me through the application, personal statement, exams, and offered me interview practice. I can’t thank the school enough for all their support!”.

The success of Timon, Seb, and Lekso embodies the core values we cherish – our MARK values, a passion for learning, and a commitment to personal and academic growth.

Mr Hope, Head of Sixth Form, Head of Classics and Coordinator of Elite Applications, said “As these three fantastic students embark on their Oxbridge journeys, I extend my warmest congratulations to them and their success is fully deserved. Their achievements are not just milestones for them but also a beacon of inspiration for current and future students.”

May Timon, Seb, and Lekso’s journeys be as incredible as their achievements.
