Durham Cathedral Schools Foundation Rowing
Durham School Boat Club is delighted to announce the arrival of two brand-new international boats from Wintech Racing, purchased through Oarsport as part of the School’s ongoing fleet upgrade programme. In addition to the new boats, the club has also received 8 pairs of Concept 2 Skinny blades, generously funded by Parents of Durham School Boat Club (PODS). This generous support will help enhance the training and racing experience for pupils across the club.
This delivery marks the first stage of a wider fleet refresh, supporting the club’s ambitious five-year development plan. The aim is to ensure that every pupil – from those new to rowing through to high-performance athletes – has access to equipment that matches their ability and ambition.
The new boats feature full carbon-composite construction, making them lighter, faster and more responsive on the water. Their arrival has already created a real sense of excitement around the boathouse as crews begin to experience the benefits of this high-performance equipment.
Durham School extends its sincere thanks to all those who made this possible. The School is particularly grateful to PODS for their outstanding fundraising efforts, the Old Dunelmians and the many current and former parents who supported the School’s Giving Days. Their generosity has played a vital role in helping to strengthen the future of the boat club.
This investment represents an important step forward for Durham School Boat Club, ensuring pupils can continue to train and compete using equipment that reflects the ambition and dedication of the athletes who represent the club.
