Pre-prep Curriculum
Children are encouraged to expand their social, emotional, and academic awareness in a fun and stimulating environment. The curriculum embraces the core subjects of English, Maths and Science with great emphasis placed upon developing early reading, writing and mathematical skills.
Other subjects include History, Geography, ICT, RE, Art, French, Music and PE which are taught through a Creative Curriculum approach which centres learning around themes and topics which promote and encourage active learning. Outdoor Learning also plays a significant part of the Pre-prep curriculum, giving children opportunity to learn beyond the classroom.
Children in Key Stage One have the opportunity to explore their musical talents by taking advantage of individual music tuition in piano or string instruments. Choir is available for Years 1 and 2, and free group tuition is available in Year 2 on recorder and violin. We aim to share the joy, pleasure and excitement of music with every child.
