An update from our Houses as the new academic year begins:

Lodge House

Year 7 had their first social event. Miss Black and Mrs Fordyce cooked them pizzas as they settled down to watch “K-Pop Demon Hunters” but within 5 minutes the girls were on their feet dancing and singing along!

Natalie and Hilda in Year 13 created a wellbeing board and challenged the girls in Year 7-11 to create a 90-second film or podcast on the topic of wellbeing. Great work, Girls!

This week’s Lady of Lodge went to Isla H, who has not only received Lauds for excellent work but who has also shown bravery in her “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” audition.

MacLeod House

Year 10 girls enjoyed their social. They made S’mores and enjoyed some very competitive ping pong!

Also, MacLeod Sixth Form girls who went on the South Africa Sports Tour did a brilliant presentation to the House about their House charity, The Winnie Mabaso Foundation. They outlined their love for the charity, the incredible work they do and shared lots of photos from their time in South Africa.

The Caffinites

The Caffinites held Life and Wellbeing Education sessions on target-setting and aspirations, looking at how what they do in lessons each day contributes to building qualifications.

On a pastoral level, groups of friends have been building stronger bonds and enjoying their time around the pool table.

The Caffinites also congratulate the Sixth Form boys on their work on the Rugby field.

School House

School House saw many of its pupils put amazing effort into rowing. Despite multiple injuries and illnesses for the team, the boys gave it their all. School House also had many pupils in the winning 2nd XV. Well done to Thomas in the U15 XV who won man of the match!

Poole House

Poole House held its first social event of the year, welcoming Pimlico House boarders for a lovely evening around the fire pit. They enjoyed spending the last moments of summer listening to music outside and toasting marshmallows. Inside, there were lots of pool, table tennis and table football competitions taking place. The atmosphere was great, and it was lovely to see the boarders socialising together.

Pimlico House

In addition to the lovely social at Poole House, Pimlico House recognised Erica and Cristina for showing real kindness to a friend who was unwell. They also congratulated the U13s for winning their first hockey match of the season!
