Parking information for visitors to DCSF.

New parking restrictions are in effect at the Durham School site from Tuesday, 28 January 2025.

They are in force 24/7 365 days a year.

The goal is to improve safety for pupils by ensuring onsite parking is reserved for bona fide visitors and staff. This concern has been raised by parents, and we appreciate your understanding as we implement these changes.

If you think you have made a mistake and not adhered to the terms of use of the carpark please contact reception@dcsf.org.uk as soon as possible so we can assist you.

Key points to note:

30-minute grace period: You will not be penalised for re-entering the car parks multiple times within the grace period.

Staying longer than 30 minutes: Please register your vehicle at reception, in the Orangery, or by using the link on the parents hub.

Major events: For significant school events, the system will be switched off, and you will be notified in advance.

Pupils who have been given permission to park must do so on Vallance Drive.

Chorister Pick Up and Drop Off Permits: This is a different scheme, negotiated with Durham County Council to allow free on-street parking for pick up and drop of times for parents of Chorister School.  These permits do not give users the right to park in Durham School without registering your visit.  You can register for this scheme here:

Non-school use: If you are using the site for non-school purposes, parking charges will apply. Otherwise, you may sign in via the methods above.

For lettings: QR codes have been provided to organisers for their users.

The system operates 24/7/365, but our aim is not to charge parents or genuine visitors—rather, it is to address the disruption caused by unauthorised parking.
